What’s being done regarding: A H1N1

The flu A H1N1 is not being properly addressed in public places, reports El Deber when visiting the bus terminal, and flea market (feria barrio lindo) in Santa Cruz. No people with alcohol in gel or other form to disinfect; nor chin straps were provided to prevent contamination.

Los Tiempos website reports around noon today that the Bolivian government has requested the Argentinian government for a loan of 120,000 vaccine doses to cover the excess demand for them, nationwide. To date, there are 540 proven cases of the flu; 79% in Santa Cruz; there are three deaths reported. The regional government has declared a sanitary “red alert” and closed schools for a ten-day period. Last year there were 600 cases and 13 people died to A H1N1.
