Bolivian questionable Judicial elections: October 2011

This cartoon from El Diario, best reflects how Bolivian society reflects regarding the questioned elections for the Judicial System in Bolivia. While current president and his political affiliates are engaged in a campaign to endorse and advocate the elections; former ally Juan del Granado and his political party MSM are campaigning to vote NO and nullify the votes.

Government said they will win for over 60% in an open attempt to capture the Judicial Power, while in any democracy there are independence of powers to avoid collusion, traffic of influences, subjectivity, etc. The MSM took the most visible voice against this election. The main reason being that all candidates were approved initially by the ruling government; in other words, we the citizens will not be able to choose, we will merely endorse government’s list of candidates. That is why many individuals and groups are saying citizens should invalidate their ballot. In an attempt to show the world that we do not like to be told what to do with our vote.
