To be or not to be… that is the question! Like that, current Bolivian government appears to be confused.
Yesterday, former minister of the Presidency, Juan Quintana (currently head of a recently created institution which aims at controlling the international boundaries of Bolivia but sits very close to Santa Cruz city) said that USAID should be expelled from the country. Today, Minister of the Presidency, Carlos Romero said that was a personal opinion, not the government’s; Romero recalled current negotiations to sign a new bilateral agreement are underway.
The picture of both appeared in Los Tiempos website, at 17:57 hrs, 8/25/11. It is confusing as Quintana (left) called a press conference in the official podium at the “Burned Palace” and now we know he was delivering a personal opinion.
