For 13 days, singani will shine at Bolivian Cocktail

With the aim of promoting Bolivian singani, Bolivian Cocktail Singani is being organized, in which more than 10 bars and a similar number of bartenders will offer the public a series of drinks—mostly original creations—so that visitors can see and enjoy the variety of proposals. The event will take place from the 9th to the 25th of this month, according to the organizers.

The event, to be held this month, seeks to promote the consumption of singani through the preparation of cocktails; more than 13 bars will be part of the occasion. The wineries are also prepared to present the best of their production.

The regional manager of the company D&M, Jorge Blacutt, said that Bolivians must support national production, as well as entrepreneurial ventures, and that the company is participating with Casa Real and Don Lucho.

Bolivian Cocktail Singani (BCS) 2026 is the official cocktail competition featuring singani in Bolivia, a nationwide event that brings together the country’s best bars, wineries, and bartenders. For the first time, BCS is projecting Bolivian mixology toward Latin America and the world, with the presence of high-profile international bartenders from Peru and Argentina.

Singani is the only spirit with a Controlled Designation of Origin exclusive to Bolivia, with a history dating back to the 16th century. In recent years, the country has shown significant progress not only in the quality of its singanis, but also in their overall presentation: bottles with their own identity and labeling that competes with the best international spirits.

Positioning singani implies the creation of jobs not only in the primary chain, but throughout the entire production chain: from grape cultivation in the Cintis to the bottling and distribution of the bottles, organizers indicate.

From the viticulturist to the bartender, including the graphic designer, the transporter, and the sommelier, all are part of the same project, Blacutt emphasized.

After entering the U.S. market, producers now aim to conquer Europe.

GENERATION

For his part, the commercial manager of Bodega Hacienda Virreinal La Compañía Baja, Enrique Balanza, stated that the company is now led by the fifth generation, while the sixth generation is in charge of nationwide commercialization.

He noted that singani has reached different international competitions. For example, in Spain it won a gold medal, and in Chile it obtained a silver medal. As a result of these experiences, new markets have opened, such as Japan, which they hope to reach by mid-year.

BARS

The bars that will participate in La Paz are Cielo, Challa Centro Cultural, Watanay, Achachila, Sacha, and Casa Bar; in Cochabamba, Muela del Diablo, Salvaje, and Alma Negra; Santa Cruz will send Cielo Bar and Casa Bar; and Sucre will also have its representation with Terraza 625 and Monalisa.
