Boliviart Calendar brings together the talent of 13 women

In commemoration of International Women’s Day, the National Art Museum yesterday presented the Boliviart Women 2022 Calendar. It is a collective project that seeks to make visible the work of Bolivian women artists.
The project was born out of the need for new spaces for female graphic work. The Boliviart calendar has been published for some years with works mainly made in the silk-screen technique. This 2022 has brought together 13 talented artists from different cities in the country.
As the historian Lucía Querejazu describes in the prologue of this artistic proposal, “The creative power of women may sound cliché, but the truth is that the most important revolution of our species was brought about by women. The graphic spirit of the Mujeres 2022 calendar is rooted in the profound feminine consciousness, in the cycles of nature that are reproduced in our bodies, in assuming the legacy of being the protectors of the seeds”.
The creators of this project are two young artists and graphic designers: Lulhy Cardozo and Mariana Villarroel, who stated: “This is a dream come true, we thank our colleagues for trusting in this project, and all the people who always support us by acquiring their calendar, which although it is an everyday object, for us it is a very good pretext to start an art collection since it has an accessible cost and it is numbered and signed works, that is, original works of art”.
The execution process of this art object is based on a curatorial text that in this case referred to the work of women as protectors of the sacred seeds of life, it is based on this reflection that the authors created their works for this project.
The Boliviart women 2022 calendar is made up of the work of the following artists: Elvira Espejo, Maribel Mamani, Adriana Bravo, Daniela Elías, Fernanda Guizada, Kurmi Cardozo, Mariana Villarroel, Silke Cruz, Lulhy Cardozo, Carolina Sanjinés, Delia Rivas, Claribel Arandia and Romanet Zarate. All of them are talented Bolivian women who stand out for their constant work, some are renowned artists, but there are also new talents.

En conmemoración al Día Internacional de la Mujer, el Museo Nacional de Arte presentó ayer el Calendario Boliviart Mujeres 2022. Se trata de un proyecto colectivo, que busca visibilizar la obra de mujeres artistas bolivianas.
El proyecto nació tras la necesidad de nuevos espacios para la obra gráfica femenina. El calendario Boliviart se viene editando hace algunos años con obras principalmente elaboradas en la técnica de serigrafía. Este 2022 ha reunido a 13 talentosas artistas de diferentes ciudades del país.
Como describe la historiadora Lucía Querejazu en el prólogo de esta propuesta artística, “La potencia creadora de las mujeres puede sonar a cliché, pero lo cierto es que la revolución más importante de nuestra especie fue propiciada por las mujeres. El espíritu gráfico del calendario Mujeres 2022 hunde sus raíces en la profunda conciencia femenina, en los ciclos de la naturaleza que se reproducen en nuestros cuerpos, en asumir el legado de ser las protectoras de las semillas”.
Las creadoras de este proyecto son dos jóvenes artistas y diseñadoras gráficas: Lulhy Cardozo y Mariana Villarroel, quienes afirmaron: “Este es un sueño hecho realidad, agradecemos a nuestras compañeras por confiar en este proyecto, y a todas las personas que nos apoyan siempre adquiriendo su calendario, que si bien es un objeto cotidiano, para nosotras es un muy buen pretexto para comenzar una colección de arte ya que tiene un costo accesible y se trata de obras numeradas y firmadas, es decir, obras de arte originales”.
El proceso de ejecución de este objeto de arte parte de un texto curatorial que en este caso hacía referencia a la labor de las mujeres como protectoras de las semillas sagradas de la vida, es en base a esta reflexión que las autoras crearon sus obras para este proyecto.
El calendario Boliviart mujeres 2022 está compuesto por la obra de las siguientes artistas: Elvira Espejo, Maribel Mamani, Adriana Bravo, Daniela Elías, Fernanda Guizada, Kurmi Cardozo, Mariana Villarroel, Silke Cruz, Lulhy Cardozo, Carolina Sanjinés, Delia Rivas, Claribel Arandia y Romanet Zarate. Todas ellas son talentosas mujeres bolivianas que destacan por su trabajo constante, algunas son artistas de renombre, pero también se tiene nuevos talentos.
