They assured that they will respond to all the judicial processes that are made to the people of Santa Cruz or Bolivians.
After the Prosecutor’s Office issued the arrest warrant against the former Minister of the Environment, María Elva Pinckert, the Committee for Santa Cruz ruled against this measure, which they called “unjustified” and warned the government that “if they play with fire , they are going to burn ”, assuring that once again the political persecution is being resumed, using the Easter holiday.
The Prosecutor’s Office launched a new arrest warrant against former Minister Pinckert, which was determined after the former authority did not appear to testify before the Public Ministry.
Faced with these facts, the Committee’s president, Rómulo Calvo, described the accusations as “unfounded” and “incoherent.” He also said that they are not only persecuting those who held high positions in the Añez government, but also their officials.
“I want to tell the government that this pro-Santa Cruz committee at no time is going to abandon any man nor woman from Santa Cruz who is unjustifiably persecuted (…) we believe that rights are not negotiable and we are going to enforce them,” said Calvo.
He affirmed that they are going to respond to all criminal proceedings that are unfairly ordered against a person from Santa Cruz or Bolivian.
“We know that this weekend, which is Easter, they are wanting to take the opportunity to start the persecution again, once we said it: gentlemen, do not play with fire, you are going to get burn,” said Calvo.
They also indicated that they are presenting an extensive written, detailed and chronological account, with everything that happened at the end of 2019, backed by 1,500 documents to prove that there was no coup d’état, likewise, they asked to be given a space in a forum in the regular sessions of the OAS, so that they can present and contrast the argument of the “coup in Bolivia.”

Después de que la Fiscalía emitió la orden de aprehensión contra la exministra de Medio Ambiente, María Elva Pinckert, el Comité pro Santa Cruz se pronunció en contra de esta medida a la que llamaron “injustificada” y advirtieron al gobierno que “si juegan con fuego, se van a quemar”, asegurando que nuevamente se está retomando la persecución política, utilizando el feriado de Semana Santa.
La Fiscalía lanzó una nueva orden de aprehensión en contra de la exministra Pinckert, que se determinó después de que la exautoridad no se presentara a declarar ante el Ministerio Público.
Ante estos hechos, el presidente del Comité, Rómulo Calvo, calificó a las acusaciones de “infundadas” e “incoherentes”, también dijo que no solo están persiguiendo a los que ocuparon altos cargos en el gobierno de Añez, sino también a sus funcionarios.
“Quiero decirle al gobierno que este comité pro Santa Cruz en ningún momento va a desamparar a ningún cruceño o cruceña que sea injustificadamente perseguido (…) creemos que los derechos no son negociables y los vamos a hacer respetar”, aseguró Calvo.
Afirmó, que van a responder a todos los procesos penales que se ordenen de manera injusta a algún cruceño o boliviano.
“Sabemos que este fin de semana, que es Semana Santa, están queriendo aprovechar para comenzar la persecución otra vez, una vez lo dijimos: señores, no jueguen con fuego, se van a quemar”, dijo Calvo.
También indicaron que están presentando un extenso relato escrito, detallado y cronológico, con todo lo que ocurrió a finales del año 2019, respaldado por 1.500 documentos para probar que no existió ningún golpe de estado, igualmente, pidieron que se les dé un espacio en un foro en las sesiones ordinarias de la OEA, para que puedan presentar y contrastar el argumento de “golpe de estado en Bolivia”.
