Sick for having power
Is Luis Arce ruling? It is evident that no, he is only a vice minister of Evo Morales; he is only in charge of having power for a time to let any maneuver be made for the former chief to return to the Presidency. This is a sick one who will stop at nothing in order to re-administer the State.
There may be many explanations for the arrests of former president Jeanine Añez and some of her former ministers; there may be other reasons to try to understand why Morales wants Arias, Reyes Villa, Camacho and anyone else who opposes his return to power behind bars, but Morales got used to being the absolute owner of power in 14 years, to administer the country as if it were his estate; he did it with the support of his obsequious environment who won positions by accepting all the whims and authoritarian decisions of Morales.
Many of them gave advice to the former chief to arrest opponents, to prosecute innocent people, to force others to go into exile. Those obsequious worked together with the judges and prosecutors to repress all those who opposed Morales’s authoritarianism. All of them are still operating today.
It is obvious that in 2019 there was no coup; what took place was a monumental fraud to declare Morales the absolute winner of the elections; he hit democracy, he did it in the most clumsy way. But now there is the smell of a coup -his own- to restore him to power, that is precisely what we are seeing these days. Of course, the facts of Sacaba and Senkata required and need to be clarified, but now they are used as a pretext for Morales’ plan to win the people of El Alto and Cochabamba to his favor.
He was never interested in the dead. He tried to leave the cities without food, he pushed his supporters to demonstrations without caring that they could get the coronavirus. The sick, because of power, do not care about the people, they do not care about the dead; what they put forward is their thirst for power.
Morales was the MAS campaign manager in the subnational elections, which is precisely why that party had a poor performance in them. Eva Copa slapped him in El Alto, the people of El Alto demonstrated against the finger pointing and something similar happened in other places. Morales knows that he lost, but he does not want to admit it, so he counterattacks to return to his original idea of returning to power, to accomplish what he did not achieve: install an authoritarian government, close to a dictatorship.
What does President Arce say about this, the one who received his safe conduct -due to illness- to leave the country, a document granted by the government of former President Añez? What does Vice President Choquehuanca say, the one who said it was time for dialogue and reunion between Bolivians? Until now they are silent; they are guilty of repression, of the violation of human rights, of the violation of people’s individual guarantees.
His government, like that of García Meza, used ambulances to take prisoners from one jail to another and not to hospitals. Of that size is his complicity in Morales’s authoritarian project; they have stained their hands with those acts and repression.
That the people of El Alto understand that after these prisoners, Morales would like Eva Copa behind bars, because she is felt by those people as their leader and that Morales cannot admit; he does not accept that anyone discuss his leadership, which is now downgraded.
If in October 2019 the dilemma was democracy or dictatorship, now that dilemma is the same. Morales hides his hands, as when the extrajudicial executions of the Las Américas hotel were carried out, but it is clear that he and his followers have begun to develop their plan to return to power. It is they who asked for the opinion of the OAS on the 2019 elections, they accepted that the conclusions of that Institution are binding. And now, magically, they forgot all that.
If in 2019, in the streets, women and young people fought for democracy, now they must understand that the danger is the same that existed in that year, therefore it is necessary to fight again for democracy to avoid authoritarianism and dictatorship.

Enfermo por tener poder
¿Está gobernando Luis Arce? Es evidente que no, él es sólo es un viceministro de Evo Morales; es únicamente el encargado de tener el poder por un tiempo para dejar que se haga cualquier maniobra para que el exjefazo retorne a la Presidencia. Éste es un enfermo que no parará ante nada con tal de volver a administrar el Estado.
Puede haber muchas explicaciones para los apresamientos de la expresidenta Jeanine Añez y de algunos de sus exministros; podrán existir otras razones para tratar de entender por qué Morales quiere tras las rejas a Arias, a Reyes Villa, a Camacho y cualquiera otro que se oponga a su retorno al poder, pero Morales se acostumbró en 14 años a ser el dueño absoluto del poder, a administrar el país como si fuera su hacienda; lo hizo con el apoyo de su entorno de obsecuentes que ganaba puestos al aceptar todos los caprichos y decisiones autoritarias de Morales.
Muchos de ellos dieron consejos al exjefazo para que se aprese a opositores, para enjuiciar a gente inocente, para forzar a que otros salgan al exilio. Esos obsecuentes operaron junto a los jueces y fiscales para reprimir a todos quienes se oponían al autoritarismo de Morales. Todos ellos siguen operando actualmente.
Es obvio que en 2019 no existió ningún golpe de Estado; lo que hubo fue un fraude monumental para declarar ganador absoluto de las elecciones a Morales; él golpeó a la democracia, lo hizo de la manera más torpe. Pero ahora hay olor a golpe de Estado -el suyo propio- para reponerlo en el poder, eso es, precisamente, lo que estamos viendo en estos días. Claro que los hechos de Sacaba y Senkata requerían y precisan ser aclarados, pero, ahora son usados como un pretexto del plan de Morales para ganar a la gente de El Alto y de Cochabamba a su favor.
A él nunca le interesaron los muertos. Trató de dejar a las ciudades sin alimentos, empujó a sus simpatizantes a manifestaciones sin importarle que puedan contagiarse con el coronavirus. A los enfermos, por el poder, no les interesa la gente, no les importan los muertos; lo que ponen por delante es su sed de poder.
Morales fue el jefe de campaña del MAS en las elecciones subnacionales, justo por eso ese partido tuvo una mala performance en ellas. Eva Copa le dio una bofetada en El Alto, los alteños se manifestaron contra el dedazo y algo parecido sucedió en otros lugares. Morales sabe que perdió, pero, no desea admitirlo, por eso contraataca para volver a su idea original de retornar al poder, para cumplir lo que no logró: instalar un gobierno autoritario, cercano a la dictadura.
¿Qué dice de esto el Presidente Arce, ése que recibió su salvoconducto -por enfermedad- para salir al país, documento otorgado por el gobierno de la expresidenta Añez? ¿Qué dice el Vicepresidente Choquehuanca, ese que dijo que era hora del diálogo y reencuentro entre los bolivianos? Hasta ahora callan; son culpables de la represión, de la violación de los derechos humanos, de la violación de las garantías individuales de las personas.
Su gobierno, al igual que el de García Meza, usó las ambulancias para llevar presos de unas cárceles a otras y no a centros hospitalarios. De ese tamaño es su complicidad en el proyecto autoritario de Morales; han manchado sus manos con esos actos y la represión.
Que los alteños entiendan que después de estos presos, Morales quisiera tras las rejas a Eva Copa, porque ella es sentida por esa gente como su lideresa y eso Morales no lo puede admitir; él no acepta que nadie le discuta su liderazgo que ahora está venido a menos.
Si en octubre de 2019 el dilema era democracia o dictadura, ahora ese dilema es el mismo. Morales oculta las manos, como cuando se hicieron las ejecuciones extrajudiciales del hotel Las Américas, pero está claro que él y sus obsecuentes han comenzado a desarrollar su plan para volver al poder. Son ellos quienes pidieron el dictamen de la OEA sobre las elecciones de 2019, ellos aceptaron que las conclusiones de esa Institución sean vinculantes. Y ahora, por arte de magia, olvidaron todo eso.
Si en 2019, en las calles, las mujeres y los jóvenes lucharon por la democracia, ahora deben entender que el peligro es el mismo que existía en ese año, por ello es necesario volver a pelear por la democracia para evitar el autoritarismo y la dictadura.
