Considering that an authority is behind the legal actions against former president Jeanine Añez and some of the ministers of the transitional government, the National Committee for the Defense of Democracy (Conade) requested the resignation of Iván Lima from the portfolio of Justice, in addition, of the release of all those detained because of political persecution.
The request was made by the leader and spokesman of Conade, Manuel Morales, who pointed out that it is Minister Lima, who is behind all the apprehensions of former authorities that he described as fabricated processes.
Morales also stated that the judgment of responsibilities is the figure that should be applied in this case; however, this process should be extended to the administration of Evo Morales and all crimes that could have been committed by the two ex-presidents be put to trial.
“Asking for the resignation of the Minister of Justice, Iván Lima, because he would be behind all these fabricated trials, has indicated that he is going to make a liability trial against Jeanine Añez for four alleged crimes, that is the correct path. There must be a trial of responsibilities to Evo Morales and Añez, for the crimes they had committed,” he said.
The activist also demanded that all those detained in recent days be released until there is an impartial legal process that guarantees due process.
“Until this is developed, all those people who are being persecuted for invented crimes and without any legal support must be released,” Morales said.
Before the great call of the population to mobilize in defense of the persecuted ex-authorities and out of respect for democracy, the leader argued that the conditions are provided for a citizen mobilization to demand respect for the rule of law and the modification of the judicial system.
“We are in a position to fight for the defense of democracy and the rule of law,” he said.

Por considerar que una autoridad está detrás de las acciones judiciales en contra de la expresidenta Jeanine Añez y algunos de los ministros del gobierno de transición, el Comité Nacional por la Defensa de la Democracia (Conade) pidió la renuncia de Iván Lima a la cartera de Justicia, además, de la liberación de todos los detenidos a causa de la persecución política.
El pedido fue realizado por el dirigente y vocero del Conade, Manuel Morales, quien señaló que es el ministro Lima, quien está detrás de todas las aprehensiones de exautoridades a las que calificó como procesos montados.
Morales, además, manifestó que es el juicio de responsabilidades la figura que debe ser aplicada en este caso; sin embargo, este proceso debe ser ampliado a la gestión de Evo Morales y se juzguen todas los delitos que pudieron ser cometidos por los dos exmandatarios.
“Pedir la renuncia del ministro de Justicia, Iván Lima, debido a que estaría detrás de todos estos juicios montados, ha señalado que va hacer un juicio de responsabilidades contra Jeanine Añez por cuatro supuestos delitos, ese es el camino correcto. Debe haber un juicio de responsabilidades a Evo Morales y Añez, por los delitos que hubieran cometido”, dijo.
El activista, además, exigió que se liberen a todas las personas detenidas en los últimos días hasta que se cuente con un proceso legal imparcial que garantice el debido proceso.
“Hasta que esto se desarrolle deben ser liberadas todas aquellas personas que están siendo perseguidas por delitos inventados y sin ningún sustento legal”, afirmó Morales.
Ante la gran convocatoria de la población para movilizarse en defensa de las exautoridades perseguidas y por el respeto a la democracia, el dirigente sostuvo que las condiciones se prestan para que una movilización ciudadana exija el respeto al estado de derecho y la modificación del sistema judicial.
“Estamos en condiciones de dar batalla por la defensa de la democracia y el estado de derecho”, señaló.
