First week of MAS-II
In its first week of operation, the MAS-II government has shown some new trends alongside old instincts.
-It is the first week of 2020 in which no cocaine is seized or drug factories are discovered. The managers would likely have been very busy these days. The managers on both sides, I mean. No plane fell inside or outside the country with millionaire loads. Perhaps it was a few days off to commemorate some political event.
-President Luis Arce did not attend the fugitive return party organized in Chimoré, but it is not clear if it was because the presidential helicopter was occupied by the prodigal coca grower or because the president wants to distance himself from his predecessor and putative godfather.
-This last possibility would rule out that Arce is going to make the decision to resign and call new elections, this time with the cocalero as candidate, as the Peronists were suggesting from Buenos Aires. “Do as Héctor Cámpora did in 1973, kid. And go,” which he means and go. “And so you will remain as an example of loyalty to the godfather.”
-He has not put anyone from the “environment” of the coca grower in his cabinet. It is that he does not dare to contradict Vice Choquehuanca, determined to erase forever the traces of the MAS run away. The Aymara have proposed to create a non-coca grower MAS.
-The masistas gave a denigrating spectacle when they began the task of recovering some public positions that had been occupied by the officials of the previous government. It was the most grotesque caricature in politics. It is not politics or ideology, the jobs are that matter.
-The president keeps repeating that the current economic crisis was created by the “de facto government” of Áñez, which lasted eleven months. And he says that it is a worse crisis than the one left by the UDP in 1984. He has not understand that that crisis was incubated by military dictatorships starting in 1969, in fifteen years, the average time to create a serious crisis.
-Eva Copa left, furious. She said that the new Minister of Government is a stalker. She had fought the usurpers when the current heroes were on the run. It is that she committed treason sins that the cocalero does not forgive: she approved in Congress the constitutional succession for the appointment of Áñez and the resignation of the cocalero and Linera, when they were asking her not to do so, which was about to remove arguments to those who alleged that what happened in November 2019 had been a coup.
We’ll see what happens in the second week.

Primera semana del MAS-II
En su primera semana de vigencia, el gobierno del MAS-II ha mostrado algunas tendencias nuevas junto a viejos instintos.
-Es la primera semana del año 2020 en que no se decomisa cocaína ni se descubre fábricas de droga. Es probable que los encargados hubieran estado muy ocupados en estos días. Los encargados de ambos lados, quiero decir. Ninguna avioneta cayó dentro o fuera del país con cargas millonarias. Quizá se trataba de unos días de asueto por la conmemoración de algún acontecimiento de la política.
-El presidente Luis Arce no asistió a la fiesta del retorno del fugado organizada en Chimoré, pero no está claro si fue porque el helicóptero presidencial estaba ocupado por el cocalero pródigo o porque el presidente quiere marcar distancias con su predecesor y padrino putativo.
-Esta última posibilidad vendría a descartar que Arce vaya a tomar la decisión de renunciar y llamar a nuevas elecciones, esta vez con el cocalero de candidato, como le estaban sugiriendo los peronistas desde Buenos Aires. “Hacé como hizo Héctor Cámpora en 1973, pibe. Y tomátelas”, lo que quiere decir y vete. “Y así quedarás como ejemplo de lealtad con el padrino”.
-No ha puesto en su gabinete a ninguno del “entorno” del cocalero. Es que no se atreve a contradecir al vice Choquehuanca, decidido a borrar para siempre las huellas del MAS pre-fuga. El aimara se ha propuesto crear un MAS no cocalero.
-Los masistas dieron un espectáculo denigrante cuando se pusieron a la tarea de recuperar algunos cargos públicos que habían sido ocupados por los funcionarios del anterior gobierno. Fue la caricatura más grotesca de la política. No es la política ni la ideología, son las pegas lo que importa.
-Sigue repitiendo el presidente pupilo que la crisis económica actual fue creada por el “gobierno de facto” de Áñez, que duró once meses. Y dice que es una crisis peor que aquella dejada por la UDP en 1984. No ha reparado que aquella crisis fue incubada por dictaduras militares a partir de 1969, en quince años, el tiempo promedio para crear una crisis en serio.
-Eva Copa se fue, furiosa. Dijo que el nuevo Ministro de Gobierno es un acosador. Había dado la batalla contra los usurpadores cuando los actuales héroes estaban fugados. Es que cometió pecados de traición que el cocalero no perdona: aprobó en el congreso la sucesión constitucional para la designación de Áñez y la renuncia del cocalero y de Linera, cuando le estaban pidiendo que no lo hiciera, lo que estuvo a punto de quitar argumentos a quienes alegaban que había sido un golpe de Estado lo que ocurrió en noviembre de 2019.
Ya veremos lo que pasa en la segunda semana.
