People’s health before elections
Undeniably, it would be in the interest of all Bolivians that democracy should not have any obstacle or difficulty for its validation; but there are circumstances in which the same democratic process forces to adopt certain foresight measures for the good of the people. This is the case of preferences: there would be an election process in the coming months; but at the same time, the coronavirus that has created uneasiness, anguish and despair in many peoples of the world that are affected by the disease is latent and increasingly serious, and our country is no exception, even if the cases are less than in other countries. We live in a time when nothing can take precedence over health because the Covid l9 tends to claim many more victims than those caused in recent months. Evil spreads because contagions acquire dimensions never imagined and, of course, we must be certain that fatal cases will be more numerous.
Elections are, must be, very important; but they are no longer relevant to the serious problem posed by the increasingly increasing presence of the virus. And the government, together with other institutions, has to deal with the serious health problem that has been neglected by the previous regime for almost fourteen years. Elections can be held at any time and if there is now a new postponement (in April it was the first) one or more does not have much significance; meanwhile, while the process comes to the polls, there is a constitutional government and there is no rush that could be, as occurs when a de facto regime is in power. But in any case, it would be a priority to attend to health and not neglect the fight against the coronavirus, which in recent months has reached dimensions that cause great concern.
There are political parties – case of the MAS – that show despair for the elections to take place, relegating health to secondary levels. With intransigent positions, Masism shows nothing more than anguish to return to power and fears that, with the postponement of the electoral process, it may have lost its last chance. Its leaders know that with a simple examination they will become aware of the serious evils they have inflicted on the country and that the people are suspicious of them, despite the excessive propaganda they ponder over works they never did, because they festively spent the country’s money, instead to fulfill a minimum program of achievements in favor of the nation.
For the national sentiment, the MAS remains as a memory that would be better to forget; but if they believe that they could gain power again, that they change and wait for the time determined by law to intervene again in future electoral processes. In the meantime, that they operate with a minimum of country awareness and avoid conduct contrary to peace and harmony that must reign among all Bolivians, not only to combat the drama of the coronavirus, but to correct the serious damage caused to the nation with socialist policies that should never be reissued.

Antes la salud de la gente que elecciones
Innegablemente, a todos los bolivianos nos convendría que la democracia no tenga obstáculo o dificultad alguna para su vigencia; pero hay circunstancias en que el mismo proceso democrático obliga a adoptar ciertas medidas previsoras en bien del pueblo. Este es el caso de las preferencias: habría un proceso de elecciones en próximos meses; pero a la vez está latente y cada vez más grave el coronavirus que ha creado intranquilidad, angustia y desesperación en muchos pueblos del mundo que se ven afectados por la enfermedad y nuestro país no es la excepción, así los casos sean menores a los habidos en otros países. Vivimos un tiempo en que nada puede tener prelación sobre la salud porque el Covid l9 tiende a cobrar muchísimas victimas más que las causadas en los últimos meses. El mal cunde porque los contagios adquieren dimensiones jamás imaginadas y, por supuesto, hay que estar seguros de que los casos fatales serán más numerosos.
Las elecciones son, deben ser, muy importantes; pero dejan de tener relevancia frente al grave problema que significa la presencia, cada vez más acrecentada, del virus. Y el gobierno, conjuntamente otras instituciones, tiene que atender el grave problema de salud muy descuidado por el anterior régimen durante casi catorce años. Elecciones podemos tenerlas en cualquier momento y si ahora se produce una nueva postergación (en abril fue la primera) una o más no tiene mucha significación; entretanto, mientras llegue el proceso en las urnas, hay un gobierno constitucional y no existe la premura que podía haber, como ocurre cuando está con el poder un régimen de facto. Pero de todos modos tendría prelación atender la salud y no descuidar la lucha contra el coronavirus que en los últimos meses alcanzó dimensiones que causan gran preocupación.
Hay partidos políticos -caso del MAS- que muestran desesperación para que se realicen las elecciones, relegando la salud a planos secundarios. Con posiciones intransigentes, el masismo no muestra más que angurria por retornar al poder y teme que, con la postergación del proceso electoral, habrá perdido tal vez su última oportunidad. Sus dirigentes saben que con un simple examen tomarán conciencia de los graves males que han inferido al país y que el pueblo desconfía de ellos, pese a la excesiva propaganda que hacen ponderando obras que jamás hicieron, porque gastaron festinatoriamente el dinero del país, en vez de cumplir un mínimo programa de realizaciones en pro de la nación.
Para el sentimiento nacional, queda el MAS como un recuerdo que mejor sería olvidar; pero si creen que podrían acceder nuevamente al poder, que cambien y esperen el tiempo determinado por la ley para intervenir nuevamente en futuros procesos eleccionarios. Entretanto, que obren con un mínimo de conciencia de país y eviten las conductas contrarias a la paz y concordia que deben reinar entre todos los bolivianos, no solamente para combatir el drama del coronavirus, sino para corregir los graves daños causados a la nación con políticas socialistas que jamás deberían reeditarse.
