Tarija’s department chose saice as its flagship dish, and presented it today [7/28/2019] at a gastronomic and artistic fair in that city.
“We greet and congratulate Tarija for the election of her flag dish, it was a joint effort that lasted approximately four months between the government, the municipal government of Tarija, gastronomic associations, chefs and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism,” said the Minister of Cultures, Wilma Alanoca.
She indicated that the choice of the flag dish seeks to develop and enhance gastronomic tourism in the nine departments of Bolivia and improve tourism activity.
The inhabitants of Tarija chose the dish from among 14 proposals.
At the gastronomic fair, the tarijeñas institutions and associations of gourmets and chefs presented the world’s largest saice dish, two meters in diameter, for all present to taste.
