Bolivia: Protests Staged Against Terminating Presidential Term Limits
Thousands took to the streets of cities across Bolivia to protest the recent request to rescind the legal limit that prohibits candidates from indefinitely seeking re-election, Reuters reported Oct. 10. Bolivian President Evo Morales‘ Movement to Socialism party — and the rest of the ruling coalition — made the request to lift the restriction which, if revoked by the Bolivian Plurinational Constitutional Court, would enable Morales to run for president again in 2019.
