Screen Shot 2014-12-15 at 8.02.29 AMLast year the Cochabamba pianist recorded his first album “Ama a todos” [Love all], which premiered in La Paz, Cochabamba and Santa Cruz. “I have chosen the name Love all because I want to share with people my happiness and my passion for music,” he said.

The album was recorded in early January 2013 in the study Quinto Sol, from composer and producer Manuel Rocha. It has 12 tracks, three created by Jose and the rest are by his favorite musicians such as Oscar Peterson, Michel Camilo and Herbie Hancock, among others.

The child prodigy composed the songs Mantecado blues, Zamba for the sea and Fever. “It’s a record that has rhythms from bossa nova, blues, jazz, tangos, boleros, even a little rock, which is one of my favorite genres,” he said.

The production also included the participation of musicians like Fulvia Fossati, Verónica Pérez, Luis Mercadom, Cesar Rojas and Gustavo Perez.

Besides the presentation of his album, Jose recorded his first video in the Municipal Theater of La Paz. “I’m happy because in the video, people can also see me play the piano,” he added.

The production was directed by filmmaker Marcos Loayza. In the video, it was recreated a concert from José, which gives life to Wave, from Brazilian Tom Jobim, one of the most important exponents of bossa nova. “We chose a song for José to show his skill with the piano,” added his father.

“José André is the musical future of Bolivia. All musicians should learn from him. He’s a disciplined musician.” Veronica Perez, singer

“He’s a prodigy, has much musical talent. It has a highly developed auditory and musical sensitivity.” Donato Espinoza, composer

“He has a promising future and innate talent. He’s the first child who has participated in the Festijazz of La Paz. Walter Gómez, musician

Maybe I’m mistaken but the article does not mention Jose’s last name? There is only one place that reads “José André” and I believe André is his second name… although I may be wrong.
