Bolivia: status of the A H1N1 flu as of Oct 22, 2011

According to Adolfo Zarate, responsible for the Flu Program of the Ministry of Health, to date there are 852 cases of A H1N1 flu with declining infection rates.

Zarate stressed out that 150,000 vaccine doses for the type A flu; are confirmed to arrive by next Wednesday. Those doses will be handed in to three risk groups: older than 65 years old; children under five and to those people who have the symptoms of the flu.

Most of the cases occurred in Santa Cruz with 652 confirmed cases, followed by Cochabamba and Chuquisaca with 67 and 58 respectively. It is worth noting, that the departments of Beni and Pando did not register positive cases of type A flu.
