Freedom of Speech – Bolivia, UPDATE

As a follow-up of yesterday’s post, El Deber reported that Richard Romero can recover his freedom, provided he pays a bail of Bs5,000 ($1=Bs6.86). A legal advisor from the Ministry of Government, Fernando Rivero, said Romero will also have to report himself every Friday, to sign the book at the Attorney’s office. And “he is forbidden to make any expressions against State authorities”. Romero as he was walking out of the public hearing said he was misunderstood, “that press workers do not insult and much less denigrate governmental authorities”.
