As time goes by this week, police and unions clash more violently. Two of six injured policemen are currently under care at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Police Clinic in La Paz (ANF, Los Tiempos web site).
Early today (5am) a large group of protestors “seized” the access to the Presidential House in the San Jorge neighborhood. Street blockades by education, health, and mining workers, prevented traffic to/from the south and the center of La Paz. There is growing concern that campesino (farmers) groups that support the government will go to the streets and confront the unions. As early this afternoon, the 30% salary increase dropped to 15%, the government maintains the 10%.
