Unfortunately, Bolivia is no exception.
La Prensa reports:
Malnutrition goes down and obesity goes up
The head of the Food and Nutrition Unit of the Ministry of Health, Evelin Cerruto, has expressed concern that in Bolivia malnutrition fell, but cases of overweight and obesity are increasing in the country, mainly in the east.
This concern arose during the forum called Healthy Eating, organized by the Bolivian Institute of Foreign Trade (IBCE) and HIVOS organization, which also involved the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Rural Development, the Movement of Integration Gastronomic Boliviano (MIGA) and the alternatives Foundation to put on the table the issue to a healthy and nutritious consumption: sustainable diets. The event highlighted the variety, rich cuisine and food production.
